Living on a lake is lovely, but sometimes we forget that. We get caught up in our everyday lives– laundry, soccer camp, meetings, worries–and the lake fades into the shadows. We literally stop seeing the treasure that lies 20 feet from our front door.
I woke yesterday morning at 4:00 a.m., unable to return to sleep. Rather than disturb Andrew with my restlessness, I rose and began my day–checking email, washing a load of dirty clothes (and with two small boys, there are many of those!), and catching up on some sewing projects–nearly 3 hours earlier than usual.
Then I looked out the window and saw the lake for the first time, again.
